Do you know the difference between littering and fly-tipping?
The National Trust is an independent charity which looks after 250,000 hectares of land and some of the most amazing historic houses, gardens and landscapes in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Over 15 million visitors and 3.5 million members come for inspiration, relaxation, enjoyment and enrichment. Unfortunately, a substantial number of the Trust's properties can become the victim of fly-tipping, and budgets that were intended for nature conservation and visitor enjoyment are swallowed up dealing with fly tipping. As an active member of the NFTPG, the Trust is taking part in the Landowner Fly Capture trials in the North West and West Midlands. Through this initiative, the Trust hopes that the full scale of this problem for private landowners will be recognised and appropriate steps taken to reduce this blight on the landscape.
